Plus de détails

Roslin: Previously, on Battlestar Galactica.

Baltar's Trial

Captain Franks: Madam President, are you taking chamalla again?

Roslin: I am taking chamalla again. ...Because my cancer has returned.

Demetrius

Starbuck, over her paintings and visions: I remember a flashing triple star, a giant gas planet with rings, and a comet.

Demetrius

Athena: What's the latest, Felix?

Felix: She's reversing course. Returning to sector seven.

Athena: Ugh, that is the tenth course correction.

Seelix: Frak me!

Natalie's Basestar

Natalie: They're going to attack. Alert the others. We need to jump now.

Cavil's Basestar

Cavil: Just remember, they started it.

Boomer: But we're killing them, I mean we're truly killing them.

Demetrius CAP/CIC

Hotdog: Dradis contact. I've got visual. Cylon Heavy Raider.

Leoben, on wireless: "Kara, I'm alone. This is not an attack. I knew I'd find you."

Starbuck: ...Leoben?

Leoben: "I'm here for you. To offer a truce between human and Cylon and a chance for you to complete your journey."

Demetrius CIC

Leoben: The Hybrid. You need to go to her, Kara. She'll tell you the way to get to Earth.

Helo: We're done here. Get him out of here.

Pike: This Baseship was never part of the mission. If we don't leave right now, we are all going to die.

Gaeta: We're ready to jump back to the Fleet on your order.

Starbuck: We're not going back to the Fleet.

Pike: What the hell are you talking about?

Starbuck: We came out here to complete a mission, and that Baseship has something to do with it. I know it.

Helo: Captain Thrace, as XO of the Demetrius, I'm hereby relieving you of command.

ACT ONE

Demetrius CIC

Starbuck, facing off against Helo: You son of a bitch. I'll do it myself.

(Athena and Gaeta grab her as she heads for the jump controls.)

Helo: Hey!

Anders, stepping forward: What the hell are you doing, Karl?

Helo: Stand down!

(Seelix takes Kara's gun and trains both pistols on her.)

Helo: Order the Marine guards to the control room. Tell them I'm placing Captain Thrace under arrest.

Starbuck: You're wrong, Helo. You're so Godsdamn wrong.

Helo: Either way, we're taking Leoben and his proposal back to the Fleet. We'll let the Admiral sort it out.

Starbuck: You are throwing away our last chance to find Earth.

Anders: And you'll be going back to Galactica as mutineers. How do you think the Admiral's gonna sort through that?

Helo: That's up to him. Mr. Gaeta, reset the FTL for the first jump back to the Fleet.

Gaeta: Right away, sir.

Seelix: We should just airlock your Cylon ass.

Starbuck, struggling: I am not a Cylon.

Anders, pulling a gun: Gaeta, stop! Gaeta, abort the jump! I said, abort the jump!

(Sam shoots Felix in the leg as the jump drive spools up.)

Gaeta, screaming: Oh, frak.

Anders, waving gun around: You want to know who's in charge? You want to know who's in command? You frakkin' want to know?

Starbuck: Sam!

Anders: It's Captain Thrace, Gods damn it! Now you let her go!

Helo: Sergeant, stand down. Stand down, Sergeant! Stand down, Sergeant! Seelix, stand down. Sam! Stand down, stand down! Medic!

Gaeta: Ahhh! What the frak?

Starbuck: I need a med kit!

Gaeta: Frak! What the frak?

Starbuck, setting his bone: All right, bloodstopper. This is gonna hurt. Ready, go.

(She pours coagulant on the wound.)

Gaeta: Get off me, you frakkin' bitch...Ahhhh!

Starbuck: Morpha.

(She injects Felix, and he settles.)

Starbuck: We need to move him to a bunk.

Helo: Marines, get over here!

Starbuck: Careful!

(They carry him out; Kara ignores Sam.)

Anders: Wait, listen. Kara, that was...

Helo: So now what? Gonna give orders at gunpoint?

Starbuck: You're right, Helo. I never should've ordered Demetrius to jump to the Baseship. Too many lives to risk on a gut instinct.

Helo: So Demetrius goes back to the Fleet.

Starbuck: Missing a Raptor. I'm gonna take Leoben back to the Baseship. See if his story checks out.

Helo: Are you insane? The two of you alone?

Anders: She's not going alone. I'm going with her.

Starbuck, looking to Sharon: This is crazy, but I need you.

Athena: ...What?

Starbuck: I need someone that speaks their language. If this is a trap, I want to know about it.

Seelix: Hell yeah, let the Cylon go.

Athena: It's okay. I'll do it.

Helo: No, listen to me. Your Raptor doesn't have enough fuel to get back to Galactica.

Starbuck: But the Baseship does. We were sent out here by the Admiral to complete a mission. Not for me, but for the people of the Fleet. And if I'm right, the payoff is Earth.

Helo: Lt. Costanza, what's the latest we can leave here and still make the rendezvous with the Fleet?

Hotdog: Window closes ... fifteen hours and seven minutes. And that's cutting it really damn close.

Helo: Set the clock to fifteen hours and seven minutes, and start it. We'll be waiting here till the clock runs out.

CREDITS. 39,675 survivors.

ACT TWO

Galactica: Roslin's Offices

Roslin, completely bald: So I guess just pack up everything that's here. Pack up all of these drafts. I'm gonna have plenty of time on my hands over the next couple of days, so pack it up.

Tory: Hey, at least the worst is over. Two more doloxan treatments and you will be over the hump.

Roslin: And I'm gonna need you to really keep an eye on things until then.

Tory, smiling: Don't worry. I'll make sure our friend from Picon sees the error of his ways.

Roslin: I'm not just talking about the Quorum, Tory. There was a time a few months ago when you seemed overwhelmed by the stresses and the pressures of this job. But lately you've really stepped up. And I'm gonna be demanding even more of that from you in the days to come, because I'm not quite sure of what I'm doing right... I'm sort of... I'm just gonna need you to keep a keen eye on every single thing that comes across this desk.

Tory: I appreciate your confidence, Madam President.

Roslin: Thank you. Let's go.

Demetrius Raptor

Starbuck, marching cuffed Leoben into the Raptor: Just remember, if this is a trap, you die first.

Athena: Preflight is complete.

Starbuck: I need to know. Do I need to watch my back with you on this?

Athena: No, I said I'd go. You have my word.

Leoben: Be like a homecoming for you. The other Eights talk about you all the time.

Athena, to Barolay: Keep him the frak away from me.

Starbuck: Barolay, I didn't ask for volunteers.

Barolay: Yeah you did, back on Galactica. Look, I don't give a frak what the others say, you've been kicking ass since day one. You say you can find Earth, I want to be there when you do.

(Athena kisses Helo and boards the Raptor; they take off.)

Helo, on wireless: "You have fourteen hours and 40 minutes. Godspeed."

Athena: Copy that.

Leoben, to Sam: Can you feel it? The anticipation. God's plan is about to be revealed.

Anders: You better hope so, for your sake.

Athena: 3... 2... 1... Jump.

(They jump into the broken Raiders and Basestars of the civil war, drifting.)

Anders: Multiple contacts, all quadrants.

Athena: Huh. Looks like we found what's left of them.

Demetrius Storage

Helo: How you doing, Felix?

Gaeta: Never better. Those frakkers won't give me any more morpha. Afraid I'll OD or something.

Helo: Yeah, I know.

Gaeta: ...Will you promise me something?

Helo: Anything.

Gaeta: Don't let Cottle take my leg.

Helo: Hey, you're gonna be all right.

Gaeta: Don't frak with me. Karl, I know every minute that we stay here means it's more likely that he's gonna have to. Please, okay? Promise me.

Helo, taking his hand: Felix, you know damn well I won't leave until the clock runs out.

Raptor

Starbuck: All right, where's the Baseship?

Anders: I don't know. If it's still in one piece, dradis is too cluttered to see it... Hey, watch yourselves. We've got ordinance popping off all over the place out there.

Athena: Looks like he wasn't lying about a civil war.

Starbuck: This is it. This is the place. I can hear it.

Leoben, to Sam: The unstruck music vibrates in all of us. Few can hear it. Kara's one of the few.

Athena: Got a course for us?

(Sam works at the ECO controls.)

Starbuck: Give me the ship.

Athena, giving her flight control: Starbuck, you have any idea where you're going?

(She sees the Basestar against the gas giant, like a comet. It's her vision. She laughs and cries with relief.)

Starbuck: The comet! The... It's the ship! This is what I was meant to see.

(Leoben nods to her; she laughs, delighted. Wreckage slams toward the Raptor and hits.)

Anders: Incoming, right, two high! Break, break, break!

ACT THREE

Raptor

(There's a brief moment of Emily's vision of Styx, later; Kara wakes from being knocked unconscious.)

Anders: She's back.

Starbuck: Oh, frak.

Anders, tending to her wounds: Kara...hey, no, shh! Take it easy, Kara. Everybody made it okay. You're gonna be fine.

(She reaches for her head wound, woozy.)

Anders: No, don't touch it. (To Leoben) We need to get her out of here. Get her some air.

Basestar Docking Bay

(Athena checks out the Raptor as the Basestar's biological garage doors close; an Eight touches her shoulder and she turns, startled. There's a whole squad of Sharons looking at her.)

Athena: Get the frak away from me!

Eight: They call you Athena now. You even wear their uniform like you're one of them. You were the first to say no.

Athena: No to what?

Eight: The entire plan. You joined the humans. You had a child. You showed us that we don't have to be slaves to our programming.

(Athena rolls her eyes; the Eight nearly weeps.)

Eight: We wanted the same thing, but it turned out to be a disaster. The Sixes have made one mistake after another. They have to be stopped before they get the rest of us killed.

Another Eight: Ask.

Eight: You could help us.

Athena: You want me to lead a mutiny against the Sixes.

Eight: It's the only way.

Athena: You guys make me sick.

Eight: Why?

Athena: Because you pick your side and you stick. You don't cut and run when things get ugly. Otherwise you'll never have anything. No love, no family. No life to call your own. Now you guys can either help me or get the hell out of my way.

Galactica Sickbay

Baltar, on wireless: "...Because He will take your hand..."

(Laura, irritated, gets out of bed and wheels her IV drip toward the sound.)

Nurse: I'll just come back later. When you're feeling a little better.

Emily: Can't you read a chart? I'm not gonna feel better. So take your needles and your thermometers and your catheters and stick 'em where the sun doesn't shine.

Baltar: "... The undiscovered country..."

Roslin, entering her bedsit: Hello.

Emily: Oh, great. Now the President.

Roslin, friendly: She stuck me three times today.

Baltar: "...It's a better place..."

Emily, smiling: Be thankful she hasn't put a catheter in you.

Baltar: "...Where we will bask in the radiance of God's love. How do we get there?"

Emily: All this just to keep me alive for a few more days. It's so pointless.

Roslin, reaching for the wireless: No, it's not pointless. And I'm sure it isn't helping listening to Gaius Baltar...

Emily: No no no! Don't touch that! The frak do you think you are?

Baltar: "... Accept him into your hearts..."

Emily, sick and upset: Leave me alone!

(She bursts into tears and Laura leaves, embarrassed.)

Baltar: "...God doesn't really care how many good deeds we've done. This is the mistake that I find that so many of the pious..."

Basestar

Leoben: The... Hybrid will want to see you, I know it.

Starbuck: Let's go then.

Natalie: What are you doing? You want to give her access to the central nervous system of this ship?

Anders: I thought we had a deal.

Leoben: We discussed this. Kara's the key to our salvation.

Natalie: We agreed on an alliance.

Starbuck: You want an alliance, I see the Hybrid. Leoben claims it can help me find Earth.

Leoben: There's no way around it.

Natalie: We've tried to be patient about your model's obsession with this woman. Playing house with her on New Caprica was one thing. But this puts us all in jeopardy. We have their Raptor and their jump drive. We don't need them.

Barolay: Frakkin' toaster!

Starbuck: Barolay, don't. You don't have time to figure out our jump systems without our help. Not before the other Cylons get back.

Leoben: And if we do figure it out in time, do we just keep running? How long before we run out of fuel, food, ammunition? How long before Cavil's forces hunt us down? Like it or not, we have to work with the Colonials. That means Kara sees the Hybrid.

Starbuck: Or you can kiss your asses good-bye.

Natalie, stalking off: Looks as if we have no choice. But first we do this.

Basestar CIC

Athena, reading the datastream: Okay, we can do this. We can give their ship jump capability again by slaving its drives to our Raptor's spin sync generator.

Starbuck: So just do it.

Athena: Their Hybrid was damaged in the attack, so we're gonna have to pull her offline and execute jumps from the Raptor.

Natalie: -- Pull the Hybrid offline? Absolutely not. It's never been done on an operational ship. It would be like blinding her. It might even kill her.

Starbuck: You know, if we don't get this done before the other Cylons come back, we're all dead anyway.

(Natalie assents.)

Starbuck: Make it happen, Lieutenant.

Athena: Barolay, yank the connectors from the bus I showed you and strip the cables out of them.

Barolay: You got it, LT.

(A Six double-takes on Jean's face.)

Athena: And Six, I'm gonna need some data cabling right away. Single mode 1310, otherwise you'll blow our system to shreds.

(The Six follows Jean; Sam thinks about touching the datastream.)

Starbuck: We started the interface. Take me to this Hybrid. Anders, you're on me.

Anders: Might be better if I stay here. I know more about the Raptor's system than they do.

Starbuck: Fine.

Docked Raptor

(The Six shoves past Jean as they work, then stares at her.)

Barolay: What the hell are you looking at?

Six: I know you. You were on New Caprica. You were part of the Resistance. You killed me. Watched me drown, kicking and thrashing like I was some kind of an insect.

Barolay: Well, be happy to put you down again.

(The Six punches her, irritated; she slams Jean's head against the hatch of the Raptor. Jean drops down onto the floor of the docking bay, then stands up, nose bleeding.)

Barolay: I'm okay....

(She drops dead. The Six stares at her.)

Athena: Barolay?

Anders: Hey, hey, Jean. Hey. Jean! You killed her. You frakkin' killed her!

(Sam grabs the Six and throws her to the floor, puts a gun to her head.)

Anders: You want to know what it feels like to die, huh? You're nothing! You're a frakkin' machine!

Starbuck, arriving with Natalie: Sam, put the gun down now! Sam, stop!

Anders: What do you want me to do, Kara? You want me to forget about Barolay? You want me to forget about New Caprica? No frakkin' way! She just killed Barolay!

Starbuck: Sam! Put the gun down. Put it down.

Anders, weeping: I'm not gonna do it.

Starbuck: Sam. Sam, you have no idea what's at stake here. Look at me. Put it down.

Athena: They killed one of us and you're just ready to let it slide?

Anders: She's right. You can't let this go, Kara. If you don't want to do this, I will.

Starbuck: Put the gun down, soldier. I need to see the Hybrid.

Natalie, to the Six: Why, sister?

Six: I just couldn't let it go. On New Caprica...

Natalie, kneeling: She was the one?

Six: I never did anything to her. We were working at the water treatment plant and she just...

Natalie: I know, I remember. After you downloaded, we tried to work through this...

Six, crying: How do you work through something like that? Never forget her expression as I tried to scream. Just... just slapped tape over my mouth and threw me in that septic tank...

Anders: You shut your frakkin' mouth.

Six: I still see her face when I try and sleep. We were trying to help these people.

Natalie: I know. I know. I wish there was something I could do.

Six, without looking up: ...Then I'm glad it's you.

(She lowers her head to the floor. Natalie cries and takes her face in her hands, kissing her. Natalie stands behind Sam and pulls his finger on the trigger.)

Anders, pointing the gun at Natalie: Godsdamn it!

Natalie: No Resurrection Ship. You understand? She's just as dead as your friend.

(She stalks off, then stops in front of Kara.)

Natalie: Is that enough human justice for you? Blood for blood?

(Athena looks at the other Eight; Sam is freaked.)

Galactica Sickbay

(Laura walks past Emily's bedsit.)

Emily: Madam President. I wanted to apologize for before. I... I have good moments and bad.

Roslin: And that was ... which?

Emily, laughing: Come in here. I have something for you.

Roslin: For me?

Emily: Yes, yes, come in. Come in. Would you get it? It's in the first drawer. Right here. That's it. Yes.

Roslin: This is for me?

Emily: I hope it's not too gaudy.

(It is beautiful scarf, with leaves in pale green and gold.)

Roslin: No. This is beautiful. Thank you. That's beautiful.

Emily: A woman on Aurora makes 'em, Leslie Stars. She makes all kinds if you want to check it out.

Roslin: No, I think this one will be just fine.

Emily: What color are you hoping for? When it grows back in?

Roslin: Um, well. I was thinking maybe blue. Nice royal blue. Change of pace.

Emily: Oh, my hair used to be... now look at it. Feel it, feel it.

(Roslin touches her hair; Emily puts her hand over her hand and looks in her eyes.)

Emily, sweetly: It's gonna get a lot worse. Be prepared for that.

Baltar: "... Because He will take our hands and guide us to the other side of the river..."

ACT FOUR

Hybrid Chamber

(Natalie enters with Kara; a Centurion stands in the corner, watching them enter.)

Hybrid: ... All these things at once and many more not because it wishes harm but because it likes violent vibrations to change constantly then shall the maidens rejoice at the dance structural integrity of node seven restored repressurizing the children of the one reborn shall find their own country the intruders swarmed like flame like the whirlwind hopes soaring to slaughter all their best against our hulls ...

Starbuck: I'm here. You wanted me here, so...

Hybrid: ... Replace internal control accumulators 4 through 19 they'll start going ripe on us pretty soon compartmentalize integrity conflicts with the obligation to provide access FTL sync fault uncorrected no ceremonies are necessary ...

Sickbay

Emily: For what it's worth, I voted for you in the last election. And I don't like how Baltar keeps ragging on you. That is not why I listen to him.

Roslin: Why do you listen to him?

Emily: I had an experience that made me rethink all my preconceptions.

Roslin: What kind of experience?

Emily: It happened the night after Cottle told me that my cancer had spread to my liver and I'd never be leaving this place. I was on a ferry crossing a river, and as we were approaching the other side I saw all these people standing on the bank. And we got closer, and I recognized them. My parents. My sister Kathy, who died when I was twelve. My husband, my girls. I... I was scared for a moment. You know, how is this happening? But then I... I felt it. This ... presence. Hovering all around me. Warm. Loving, and... It said, "Don't be scared, Emily. I'm with you. Hold my hand and we'll cross over together."

Roslin: But a lot of people in our predicament have dreams like that, Emily.

Emily, over snippets of her vision: No. I was there. I felt the cool breeze coming from the water. The spray from the bow. Maybe he's stumbled onto something. You know, he talks about the river that separates our world from the next. That... That there's more to this existence than we can see with our naked eye. There's a power that we can't begin to understand.

(Roslin stares at her.)

Hybrid Chamber

(Kara looks at the Hybrid.)

Hybrid: ... then shall the maidens rejoice at the dance structural integrity of node seven restored repressurizing the children of the one reborn shall find their own country. End of line, reset. Track mode monitor malfunction traced recharge compressors increase the output to 50% assume the relaxation length of photons transfers contact is inevitable leading to information bleed FTL sync fault stands uncorrected no ceremonies are necessary...

Starbuck, crouching: I don't understand.

Hybrid: ... Centrifugal force reacts to the rotating frame of reference the obstinate toy soldier becomes pliant the city devours the land...

Leoben, kneeling: You can't hurry her. You have to absorb her words. Allow them to caress your associative mind. Don't expect the fate of two great races to be delivered easily.

Hybrid: ... Assume the relaxation length of photons in the sample atmosphere is constant the intruders swarmed like flame like the whirlwind hopes soaring to slaughter all their best against our hulls...

(Helo paces the Demetrius CIC; Gaeta is looking rough in his makeshift sickbay.)

Hybrid: ...All these things at once and many more not because it wishes harm but because it likes violent vibrations to change constantly then shall the ...

Athena: Hey, we're rigged and ready. It's time to pull her offline and get out of here before we miss our rendezvous.

Hybrid: ...Reset...

Athena: Any luck, Captain?

Starbuck: Not a frakkin' thing.

Hybrid: ... But you are a spark of God's fire core update complete...

Starbuck: Frak it! Unplug the damn thing. Let's get the frak out of here.

Hybrid: ... Threat detection matrix enabled dendritic response bypassed the received dose is altered by the delayed gamma burst going active execute the children of the one reborn shall find their own country, end of line.

(An Eight opens a panel and unplugs the Hybrid, who shouts in an unceasing scream. A Centurion steps forward, converting guns.)

Natalie, angrily: Stop!

(The Centurion fires, dropping the Eight. Kara and Athena destroy it.)

Anders, entering: ...What the hell happened?

(The Eight's blood pollutes the water in the Hybrid tank; she's still screaming.)

Starbuck: What do you want from me? Please, I need you.

(She finally stops, and pulls one hand from the water with a calm smile.)

Hybrid: ...Thus will it come to pass the Dying Leader will know the truth of the Opera House the missing Three will give you the Five who have come from the home of the Thirteenth you are the harbinger of death Kara Thrace you will lead them all to their end.

(Kara is stricken.)

Hybrid: End of line.

(The Hybrid goes limp, and Athena fully unplugs her; the room goes dark.)

Galactica Sickbay

Roslin: But this God that Baltar refers to, it is the Cylon God. You know that, don't you?

Emily: If He's the one and true God, He belongs to all of us. Otherwise, He's not much of a God, is He?

Roslin: Exactly. He isn't much of a God. He's a fantasy.

Emily, making Laura laugh: Oh, Laura. And the Lords of Kobol are real? Reigning from a metaphysical mountaintop in those silly outfits? Zeus handing out fates out of an urn like...like they were lottery tickets. You're gonna work on a tylium ship, you're gonna be an Admiral, your family's gonna be evaporated in an attack on the Colonies, but you'll survive for three more years in a moldy compartment on a freighter till your body starts to eat itself up alive. Those are the Gods that you worship? Capricious, vindictive?

Roslin: But they're not meant to be taken literally. They're metaphors, Emily.

Emily: I don't need metaphors. I need answers.

Roslin: You're like my mother. She wasn't satisfied with metaphors either. She was convinced that Aphrodite herself was gonna swoop her away when she died. And she believed it. Even after the doloxan and the radiation failed to stop her cancer. She was a teacher, she was ... Oh, she was something to behold. ... In the head of a classroom, and ... And her students.

(She starts to cry.)

Roslin: Her students loved her. They... They'd walk through fire for her. And then you see this woman who seemed so eternal, she ... withered away, and I find myself having to change her diaper because she couldn't even... And at the moment she died, there was no gleaming fields of Elysium stretched out before her, there was this... Dark, black abyss. And she was just terrified. She was so scared... I'm sorry...

Emily, reaching out to her: Laura.

(Laura takes her hand.)

Emily: Laura, you were terrified. You saw only darkness. You can't possibly know what your mother experienced. You're, you're still searching. You're...

(Emily goes into some kind of arrest, choking.)

Roslin: Doc Cottle! Doc! Do something!

Cottle: Nurse, get me some morpha quickly.

Roslin, holding her as he injects her: Shh, it's okay. It's all right.

Cottle, as they lay her back: All we can do for her now is try to make her comfortable.

Roslin, crying: That's all?

Cottle: I'm sorry, that's it.

Roslin: All right.

(Laura kneels at her side, holding her head to Emily's temple.)

ACT FIVE

Hybrid Chamber

(All the lights have turned red; they gather around the Eight as she dies.)

Natalie: It's as if she doesn't even see us anymore.

Anders: She's looking past us. I've seen that look many times, but never in the eyes of a Cylon.

Eight, holding out her hand: Athena, you were right. Forgive me.

(Athena reaches out, but can't touch her fingers. Sam drops to his knees.)

Anders: It's okay. I'm with you.

(He looks into her eyes as she dies, and then closes them.)

Leoben: "...She will lead us to the end. We will now know the truth of the Opera House."

Natalie: "The home of the Thirteenth."

Starbuck: What?

Natalie: The Hybrid said, "The missing Three will get you the Five, who have come from the home of the Thirteenth." The home of the Thirteenth Tribe of humans...

Starbuck, staring: And the Five is your Final Five Cylon models.

Natalie: If they've come from the home of the Thirteenth Tribe, then they must know the way back.

Starbuck: They know how to get to Earth.

Athena: And the missing Three is the model you boxed for looking at the faces of the Five...

Leoben: D'Anna.

Starbuck: She can recognize 'em. Let's go. Demetrius is waiting for us.

(They all leave; Sam continues looking at the Eight, and eventually follows.)

Ferry Dream

(The waterline is at 9. Emily stands on the prow of the ferry, smiling. Laura stands beside her. Emily's family and other dead appear on the shore.)

Emily: We're here.

(When Laura looks over at her, she's gone -- Laura spots her running to them, arms open wide, and smiles. She sees another group, arriving for her on the shore.)

Laura: Mother. You're okay.

(She waves goodbye to them.)

Laura: I'm not ready.

(Laura wakes in sickbay and hears Gaius's voice. Emily's radio is still tuned in, although her bedsit has been cleared and it's empty.)

Baltar: "...You no longer need to fear the unknown. Because he will take your hand and guide you to the other side of the river. What river am I talking about? I'm talking about the river that separates this world from the next. There is more to reality than the things that we can touch, taste, or even see with our naked eyes. There is another realm..."

Demetrius CIC

(One minute to go on the rendezvous countdown.)

Helo: All hands to jump stations. Prepare to jump the ship.

Hotdog: All hands to jump stations. Prepare to jump the ship. All hands to jump stations. Prepare to jump the ship.

(Everybody sits; Gaeta's leg is bloody, and he moans.)

Helo, watching dradis and pacing: Come on. Come on, come on! Sublight?

Seelix: Go.

Helo: Helm.

Ensign: Go.

Helo: Nav.

Hotdog: Go.

Helo: Tactical.

Ensign: Go.

Hotdog: Jump solution checks. Nav is go.

Gaeta in bed

Helo: FTL.

Seelix: Drive's spun, 100% and stable, go.

(Helo watches the countdown reach zero, and start back up.)

Helo, slamming the control panel with a fist: The board is green.

Seelix: She's gone. Or they'd be back by now.

Helo: Execute jump in five. Four. Three...

(The Basestar jumps in above them.)

Hotdog: Dradis contact! Cylon Baseship. It's right on top of us.

Helo: Hold the count! Hold the count!

Seelix: Baseship is squawking Colonial ID. I've got a comms signal, but it's really weak.

Helo: Speakers!

Athena: "Demetrius, Athena. Demetrius, Athena."

Helo, nearly crying: Gods, it's good to hear your voice.

Athena, on the Raptor: Copy that, Helo. The Baseship is ours. Mission accomplished.

Helo: Then let's go home.

Adama's Quarters

Roslin: I need to talk to you.

Adama: Certainly. Come in.

Roslin: Thank you.

Adama: Can I get you some water?

Roslin: Yes.

(A bit later.)

Adama: You really believe that there's something in this horse manure that Baltar's peddling?

Roslin: I don't know. Something is happening here, and I don't really understand it, Bill.

Adama: You both had the same dream, means...

Roslin: What? Talk to me. What's going on?

Adama: Kara comes back from the dead, I let her go off chasing her vision of Earth. Well, she's overdue. Lee turns in his wings. Helo, Athena, Gaeta. Will I ever see those kids again?

Roslin, rubbing his shoulder: Bill. Look at me. I'm right here. Right here. We're going to find it.

Adama: Earth?

Roslin: Together.

Adama: I used to think it was such a pipe dream. I used to use it as a carrot for the Fleet.

Roslin: What made you change?

Adama, grinning wonderfully: You. You made me believe.
